What is Near Field Communication?
Near-field magnetic communication (NFMC or NFC) is a wireless physical layer of communication. It has a number of unique attributes that make it ideal for high-density, short-range communications. It uses magnetic signals to create secure communication perimeter that surrounds and is uniquely owned by each user for reliable and private communications.
Mobile products will incorporate near field communication (NFC) technology this year. Small, battery powered personal devices, such as mobile phones, PDA’s, and portable audio players, will take advantage of near field communication. Consumers will use NFC to access services and make mobile payments. Recently, major corporations are beginning to sponsor standards and working committees to promote Near Field Communication.
You can find products using NFC at Aura Communications. They have developed a new generation of wireless connectivity for portable consumer electronics. Aura leverages near field magnetic communication rather than conventional radio frequency technology. This technology enables them to design some of the lowest power, most affordable wireless products on the market today.
