The objective of Exteme Networks is to serve wireless and wired applications—such as voice-over-IP (VoIP), patient care, interactive classrooms, and evolving Radio Frequency ID (RFID) tagging—seamlessly. To do this, the architecture must be capable of addressing the management and security problems of existing solutions by extending the capabilities of the wired network across the enterprise from core to access to wireless users.
