These Class 0 protocols are deemed important to the EPC plans specified by the Wal(x)Mart's RFID compliance initiative with its top 100 suppliers, subject to begin in January, 2005. Wal(x)Mart has stated that it will accept Class 0, Class 0+ and Class 1 tags that were under development as standards for the RFID industry's first major supply chain compliance initiative.
