Intermec Technologies Corp. today announced an initiative to focus its development of software tools on the standards for service oriented architecture (SOA), reaffirming its longstanding commitment to open, non-proprietary software architectures. Today, Intermec provides libraries of software tools and utilities, stand-alone applications and custom development through its authorized independent software vendor (ISV) partners. Intermec will continue to support these programs while transitioning its own product development efforts to focus on SOA components for customers and partners. Intermec announced the initiative at its software developers' conference today in Chicago.
