Alien RFID Applied to Fish Crates for Traceability

Alien Tech supports RFID traceability application for Pack and Sea A/S, the Danish fish crate tracking consortium. ...

... "Pack and Sea is the largest consortium of commercial fishermen in Denmark. They required very durable RFID tags on hundreds of thousands of plastic crates to withstand routine supply chain logistics processes including high temperature cleanings and the continuous exposure of the reusable assets within a highly saline environment. Seawater is a very aggressive corrosive substance so it was critical to provide an extremely rugged and proven tag design solution. After subjecting all UHF Gen 2 inlays available in the marketplace to rigorous tests, we selected Alien’s Higgs-3 Squiggle inlay which provided the most consistent and long read range, so it was an obvious choice to make. Alien Technology RFID Tag Signature Authentication Addresses Cloning

Alien Technology has implemented dynamic authentication as a feature on its Higgs-3 RFID chip, enabling data security to confront cloning. ...

... "Dynamic Authentication further enhances security of the Higgs-3 IC by incorporating a challenge/response algorithm which defeats static cloning attempts of the Higgs-3 IC. This innovative custom feature is a verification process comprising a dynamic interaction between the reader and the tag, and is a function of several parametric tag characteristics whereby the tag’s signature is challenged by the reader for Higgs-3 authenticity and confirmed by the host to provide customers with a cost effective, secure identification measure. " ...

Alien Higgs RFID Chip Tracks Waste from Cleanup Sites

Alien Technology collaborates with Bechtel Jacobs Company and GlobeRanger to deliver a viable RFID solution for tracking of contaminated waste removed from clean-up sites. The solution has been applied to the Bechtel Jacobs' environmental remediation process, where tracking and detailed record keeping is critical. ...Enviromental remediation is improved with RFID technology

... "Within three months of initial discussions, a deployable RFID solution was installed in the field. Vehicles were equipped with tags containing Alien’s feature-rich Higgs-3 IC, and rugged deployable passive RFID towers were developed using Alien’s enterprise-class ALR-9900 readers. Utilizing software developed by GlobeRanger, the system was designed to automatically identify vehicles at designated checkpoints, thus giving Bechtel Jacobs visibility into real-time material tracking as well as the ability to remotely manage the RFID systems, even in locations where infrastructures may be non-existent.

The GlobeRanger software collected data from a variety of devices, including handhelds, fixed RFID readers, and weigh scales. Data from these inputs was then programmed in the extended memory section of the Alien Higgs-3 tags using encryption algorithms to enhance security. The system was designed to flag and provide alerts and notifications if processes or time schedule variances deviated from pre-defined expectations. " ...
