"Streamlining MRO with Radio Frequency Identification (RFID): RFID components imbedded throughout an aircraft will record parts data, installation dates and maintenance and inspection information. This will greatly enhance the MRO community's ability to anticipate and manage routine and long-term maintenance requirements for individual aircraft. The DOD's extensive RFID supply chain integration project now underway will affect virtually every one of its 43,000 suppliers and their ability to compete for contracts. This session help to clarify DOD standards and requirements MRO vendors and providers must adhere to now, and how this technology will ultimately permeate all aspects of aircraft MRO.
