"In the year 2005, RFID is being applied to a variety of applications including supply chain, logistics, warehousing, security, brand protection, asset management, shipping, etc. These applications are finding their way into a variety of industries including retail, aerospace, automotive, airport management, pharmaceutical, medical/healthcare, etc. Major organizations have been carrying out trials over the last couple of years and have gained experiences including Walmart, Target, DoD, TESCO, IBM, HP, Albertsons, Fedex, UPS, etc. UCLA-WINMEC is hosting a forum to discuss where this industry is today with respect to actual usage, the successes failures, standards, how RFID projects are justified, how RFID is actually being implemented, deployment issues.
